Crowne Plaza – Update
Tuesday, June 17th, 2008Main Street Bridge
Monday, June 16th, 2008One of my first models I began working on and was on my old site is the Main Street bridge. This model has been quite a task to reproduce from photographs. It really is like Blue Steel though, it’s nowhere near ready. I got to a point where I wasn’t sure what to work on next so I began working on other buildings so I could still see progress on the project.

Monday, June 9th, 2008It is my current effort to create initial models to inspire and motivate me to press forward. Along with effort is my model for the Riverplace Tower owned by Wachovia bank.
This building resides right on the St. John’s River and is a defining element of the downtown Jacksonville skyline. Constructed in 1967, the Riverplace Tower is known for the University Club of Jacksonville which occupies the 27th floor.
Stein Mart Building: Preliminary Model
Friday, June 6th, 2008AvMed Building
Monday, June 2nd, 2008Got downtown this past weekend to take some more reference photos. Latest model is of the AvMed building. It’s not a large building, but it is a detail of downtown.
Glass panes are modeled instead textured to ensure no loss of detail at any distance. Doing so adds many more polys, but this building so far has no texture maps. Glass also has a large diffused bump map to distort reflection. I’m still working on a solution for this but what I have will work for now.
